Summer Intern (Real Estate)

Position Description
HPS is seeking a dynamic and organized Intern to join the Commercial Real Estate investment team in the New York Office. This role will focus on investments in privately-negotiated senior debt, mezzanine debt, preferred equity and equity transactions. The Intern will assist the real estate investing team working directly with senior investment professionals.

Responsibilities

•  Assist with monitoring, tracking, and analyzing performance at the investment, portfolio and fund level
• Attend pipeline meetings
• Assist in primary property diligence, including creating due diligence request lists, reviewing borrower data rooms, conducting calls with brokers, researching comparable valuations, site visits, coordinating and reviewing all third-party reports, and performing online research
• Develop detailed financial models with various financial cases
• Monitor existing investments and managing internal reporting processes

Candidate Profile

• Rising Freshman or Sophomore with Focus concentration in Finance or Economics and a demonstrable interest in Real Estate
• Attention to details and strong analytical skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
