Democracy Forward Foundation is accepting applications from first and second year law students for paid, full-time Summer 2026 Legal Internships in Washington, DC. Democracy Forward Foundation's mission is to use the law to build collective power and advance a bold, vibrant democracy for all people via litigation and regulatory engagement. The Legal Internship Program runs from May 26, 2026 - July 31, 2026, with interns expected to be in the office an average of 2-3 days per week (hybrid arrangement). Interns assist Democracy Forward Foundation lawyers in their work representing clients in proceedings in federal and state courts and before federal and state agencies, including helping lawyers develop strategy and identify risks and opportunities. Responsibilities include performing legal research and drafting legal documents including substantive briefs for parties and amici, motions, comments, and other court or regulatory filings. Compensation: $5,000 per month. Required: enrolled as a first or second year law student; strong research and writing skills; demonstrated commitment to public interest law and democracy issues. Preference given to applicants who apply by October 24, with rolling consideration thereafter per NALP guidelines.
