Clinical Center Summer Internship Program 2026

The NIH Clinical Center Summer Internship Program is a paid 8-week internship from June 15 to August 7, 2026 at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. Approximately 40 selected students annually work with researchers and health professionals across multiple disciplines including bioethics, research informatics, rehabilitation medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and critical care. Participants engage in mentored research projects and attend the NIH Summer Poster Day to present their work. The Clinical Center is the largest hospital in the United States dedicated entirely to clinical research, providing interns with unique exposure to biomedical research, patient care, and translational medicine. Required: currently enrolled as high school senior, college student, graduate student, or health professional student; must be 18 by September 30, 2026; U.S. citizens or permanent residents only. Application deadline was February 18, 2026.
