Machine Learning Engineer Intern - Summer 2026

Novaflow develops an AI platform that automates bioinformatics analysis for biology laboratories, transforming raw sequencing data into insights rapidly. The company serves institutions like Mount Sinai, UCSF, Harvard, and Caltech. We are hiring a Machine Learning Engineer Intern for Summer 2026 to help develop LLM-powered systems that convert natural language queries from biologists into executable bioinformatics workflows. Key tasks: build and refine LLM pipelines for workflow generation, construct evaluation frameworks and benchmarks for model quality assessment, experiment with fine-tuning, RAG, prompt engineering, and model architectures, deploy and scale models on AWS or GCP, contribute to AI infrastructure decisions. Required skills: strong Python proficiency, experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), working knowledge of LLMs and modern AI techniques, dataset and pipeline building experience. Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a related field. Located in San Francisco or remote (US). Compensation: $6K-$10K monthly.
