Rigetti Computing is a pioneer in full-stack quantum computing. We design, build, and operate quantum computers and the software that powers them. Our summer internship program offers students and emerging researchers the opportunity to work alongside world-class scientists, engineers, and business professionals in an environment focused on innovation, experimentation, and collaboration. Each internship project is designed to give students hands-on experience in quantum hardware, software, and systems research. Interns join cross-functional project teams contributing to real initiatives that advance quantum technology. This posting serves as an Expression of Interest for our Summer 2026 Internship Program. Potential Internship Areas: Quantum Hardware Engineering, Cryogenic and Control Systems Engineering, Quantum Algorithms and Benchmarking, Quantum Software and Developer Tools, Error Detection and Gate Optimization, Information Technology, Administration and Operations. Who We're Looking For: Students who are passionate about quantum computing and motivated to learn in a collaborative, research-driven environment. Strong communication, curiosity, and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn. Demonstrated interest or coursework in quantum information science or advanced computing systems. Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages. Hands-on laboratory experience or experimental experience. Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The company designs and manufactures its chips in-house at Fab-1, the industry's first dedicated and integrated quantum device manufacturing facility. Pay: $35 - $50 per hour.
