Internship, Software Engineering, People Systems (Fall 2026)

Tesla is hiring a Software Engineering Intern, People Systems for Fall 2026 in Palo Alto, California. The role is full-time on-site for 12+ weeks at 40 hours/week. The People Systems team develops internal tools used by Tesla employees worldwide for HR, payroll, recruiting, and workplace operations. The intern will design, develop, and ship software features that touch every Tesla employee — from custom internal applications to system integrations across Workday, custom microservices, and data pipelines. Required qualifications: pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline; proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, TypeScript, or Go; familiarity with web frameworks (React, Spring, Node.js); experience with relational databases and REST APIs; ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. Interns are paired with a senior engineer mentor and own end-to-end project delivery.
