The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia is seeking second- and third-year law students for its unpaid Fall 2026 Internship Program, running September 14 through December 11, 2026. Law Student Volunteers draft responsive motions, dispositive motions, memoranda of law, and appellate briefs, and gain hands-on familiarity with the Federal Rules of Civil and Criminal Procedure, the Federal Rules of Evidence, the local rules of practice for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and the Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure. Interns may also observe court proceedings, attend trial preparation meetings, and assist Assistant U.S. Attorneys with cases across criminal, civil, and appellate divisions. Candidates must have at least a 3.0 GPA or rank in the top half of their class, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to pass a background investigation.
