The Southern Poverty Law Center seeks graduate and law students for a Fall 2026 Federal Policy internship based in Washington, DC. Interns collaborate with the Federal Policy Team on advocacy campaigns spanning Economic Justice, Decriminalization, Democracy, and Human Rights. Responsibilities include drafting research memos, fact sheets, letters, and Congressional testimony; conducting policy analysis to support federal-level civil rights change; and supporting outreach efforts. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited graduate or law school, have a strong academic background, excellent research and writing skills, and a demonstrated commitment to civil rights and social justice. The internship runs August 3 to December 4, 2026, requires a minimum of 15 hours per week for 18 weeks, and pays $17.95 per hour. Hybrid working arrangement.
