As a 2026 Summer Manufacturing Controls Engineer Intern at General Motors, you will be accountable for controls engineering and electrical support for industrial manufacturing equipment, contributing to the development and implementation of control systems for GM's manufacturing operations. Key tasks teach electrical root-cause analysis and problem solving, as well as leadership skills to provide technical support and direction to skilled trades personnel within the organization. Quality and safety are extremely meaningful, so enforcing safe work practices is the highest priority and implementing objectives for ergonomics, health/safety, and housekeeping is core to the role. You will investigate system and equipment problems and provide technical input in problem resolution, working closely with maintenance teams and plant engineering. The internship is categorized as onsite, with start dates in May and June 2026, and is available across multiple GM manufacturing sites including Bay City, Michigan plus 11 other locations. Qualifications: pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Engineering Technology, Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with graduation between August 2026 and June 2028.
