The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) Statistics Division is seeking interns at UN Headquarters in New York for 2026. Interns support work on global statistical standards, the Sustainable Development Goal indicators framework, data collection and dissemination, methodological research, and capacity building for national statistical systems. Tasks include literature and data review, drafting reports and briefs, attending expert group meetings, supporting workshops, and contributing to UN statistical publications. Internships range from 2 to 6 months minimum. Eligibility: enrolled in or recently graduated (within 1 year) from a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in statistics, economics, demography, public policy, or related field; strong English required. Unpaid; interns cover their own travel, visa, insurance, and living costs. Flexible/hybrid arrangements may be available. Application deadline May 9, 2026.
