Summer 2026 Contracts Internship

Hachette Book Group is hiring a Summer 2026 Contracts Intern in New York, NY (hybrid). The Contracts Intern will support the Contracts department in drafting, tracking, and reviewing author, agent, and vendor agreements across Hachette's imprints. Responsibilities include assisting with contract drafting and administration, maintaining contract databases and tracking tools, conducting research on rights and permissions questions, and supporting communications with authors and literary agents. Qualifications include current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or JD program; strong attention to detail and written communication; interest in publishing and intellectual property; and proficiency with Microsoft Office. The 10-week summer program includes educational sessions with speakers from across HBG departments, networking, and career development opportunities. Company laptops are provided; the internship is paid.
