Overview

Are you a high school junior going into your senior year with a desire to learn what it takes to to build the world's most advanced submarines? Are you ready to take the challenge and explore the possibilities for a future in shipbuilding?

Come take part in Electric Boat's paid SHIP Summer High School Intern Program! For eight weeks, you will work under the guidance of a trained mentor and have the opportunity to observe, and participate in, the varied manufacturing processes used to build one of the world's most sophisticated military vehicles.

While working side by side with experienced employees in their assigned trades department (Machine Trades, Electrical, Pipefitting, Shipfitting, or Welding) you will gain valuable skills and knowledge on the shipbuilding methods and tools used in Electric Boat Operations.

This Internship is located at the North Kingstown, RI location.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Complete junior year of high school by June of 2026
  • Minimum of 16 years old
  • US Citizen
  • Available to 40 hours per week June 29, 2026 through August 21, 2026

Preferred: 

  • Recommended by their high school
  • Referral
