WHO YOU ARE:
As a Communications Intern you will help the Zinnia communications team ensure everyone understands the Zinnia story. We ensure regular, clear and engaging content is available to employees to help them understand the exciting progress we are making as a firm towards simplifying insurance. Our external communications strategy tells the story of Zinnia’s progress towards becoming the modern rails of the Life and Annuities industry. In close collaboration with Marketing and Brand, we engage with external stakeholders, like the media, to tell our story.
The Zinnia Communications team is excited to welcome two interns, one in India, one in North America, to join the team this summer to work on several important projects across our portfolio of internal and external communications strategies.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
You will have the opportunity to learn and grow your communications skills, teaming up across the organization to pursue one or more opportunities across the firm:

  • Create and enhance a daily media digest, leveraging AI tech
  • Support internal communications initiatives including:
    • Liase with executives to craft and distribute internal messages
    • Draft content for timely messages to the organization
    • Help build and execute on internal comms plans
    • Support the Learning & Development team to draft content to help educate employees on Zinnia’s organizational structure and business goals
  • Support external communications initiatives local to your region including:
    • Growing Zinnia’s employer brand
    • Identify media opportunities
    • Coordinate scheduling and agenda items with Zinnia’s PR firm
    • Support Zinnia’s spokespeople with briefing materials and research
    • Compile and maintain executive bios
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to prepare executives for conferences
    • Draft award nominations

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Familiarity with Slack preferred, but not required
  • Full-time student; Junior or Senior level with a GPA of at least 3.5. This internship may extend beyond the summer semester. Available to work between 9 and 19 hours during the school year and up to 40 hours during the summer

The expected hourly range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00, dependent on skills and location. The hourly range is a good faith estimate based on what a successful candidate might be paid in certain Company locations.
