What you'll do:
As a Product Certification Intern, your key area of responsibility will be supporting the certification process by preparing, organizing, and reviewing compliance documentation and tracking certification timelines. Your day-to-day may include: conducting quality control checks on technical reports, assisting with compliance assessments, collaborating with wireless Carriers and customers on certification requirements, and researching applicable regulations. You will need to work closely with senior certification specialists and cross-functional teams to identify gaps and ensure timely completion of certification milestones.
To be successful in this role you will need to be a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to quickly understand complex regulatory and technical concepts. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage multiple certification projects simultaneously while maintaining accurate, audit-ready documentation and ensuring all compliance standards and deadlines are met.
The opportunity:
- 8 month work-term beginning May 2026.
- Full-time, paid internship: Monday - Friday, 37.5hrs/week.

How you'll make an impact:
- Assist in the preparation, organization, and review of certification-related documents, including technical test reports, compliance records, and technical documentation, to ensure they are complete, accurate, readily accessible, and adhere to department standards.
- Collaborate with team members to collect and compile data needed for certification processes, such as product specifications, test data, and compliance checklists.
- Perform initial quality control checks on certification-related documents and reports to identify any discrepancies or missing information, seeking guidance from senior specialists as needed.
- Track certification timelines to help streamline the certification process and ensure deadlines are met, ensuring that they are up-to-date and readily accessible for audits and reviews.
- Assist in conducting initial and maintenance product compliance assessments, support senior specialists in identifying gaps in certifications.
- Create comprehensive product certification plans early in the product development phase, outlining the necessary steps and milestones to achieve certifications.
- Support the Product Certification team in collaborating with wireless Carriers and key customers to ensure that product certifications meet their specific requirements and expectations.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Pursuing a diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering, Computer Science
- Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted
- Project Management Skills including- timely project communication, milestone driven schedule creation/management, risk management, commitment to timely delivery.
- Knowledge of Electronic Device Certifications: FCC, ISED, CE compliance. Global market access. Industry compliance (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi)
- Knowledge of Radio/Digital Equipment Testing: Cellular radio, ISM radio, EMC, Safety testing.
- Technical Writing Abilities: Test plans, formal letters, requirements documents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Technical competence using software programs
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role, and may be subject to change. The actual base salary for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to skills, qualifications, education and overall experience, including the location the applicant lives while performing the job.
