Relay, a dynamic and rapidly growing tech startup based in Raleigh, is on a mission to revolutionize frontline work. We've pioneered an entirely new product category: simple, rugged, smart-radio, along with a comprehensive cloud ecosystem, designed for B2B clients and frontline workers across diverse industries. Having achieved proven product-market fit by solving real-world customer pain and unlocking new capabilities, we're now expanding our Product team.

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious final year undergraduate student to join our product team for a paid Solutions Engineering Internship. This internship is for a full time, paid Summer 2026 Internship and will be onsite in our Raleigh HQ. High performing Relayers hired as Launchpad Interns will receive consideration for potential full-time roles after graduation, depending on the needs of the business. 

This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and exposure to a high growth product environment, and launch your career in product management. You'll work closely with our experienced solutions team, contributing technical resourcing to pre-sales engagements with our largest strategic and enterprise customers. This is not just an internship; you'll have real responsibilities and deliver impact as an integral part of our strategic sales cycle.

This role offers a unique opportunity to dive deep into the technical pre-sales process, working closely with our Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to design and demonstrate solutions for prospective clients. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, engaging with customers, understanding their technical needs, and showcasing the value of Relay and our AI-powered platform.

What you will do:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Technical Pre-Sales Support: Support the Solutions Team to understand client requirements and translate them into technical solutions, demonstrating how our platform addresses their needs.
  • Customer Engagement: Participate in client meetings, discovery sessions, and technical workshops to gather requirements, address technical questions, and provide insights into our platform’s capabilities.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain clear, concise documentation, including solution proposals, architecture diagrams, and integration guides to support the sales process.
  • Integration and Testing: Assist in configuring and testing customizations in the Relay platform solving customer challenges with Relay. 
  • Product Feedback: Act as a bridge between customers and the Product team, providing feedback on customer needs and pain points to influence product development.
  • Learning and Development: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, our platform’s features, and emerging technologies in PTT, SaaS, and AI to enhance your technical expertise.

Product Solutions

  • Participate in customer visits and calls to observe and learn how we identify opportunities for value creation and solutioning.
  • Review pilot data to identify areas of opportunity, understand user behavior, and inform sales engagements.
  • Build POCs to solve customer problems and demonstrate the capabilities of the Relay platform in a variety of environments.
  • Prototype AI driven solutions to enable take advantage of Relay’s AI capabilities.

What you will bring to this role:

  • Final year student at a local university pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, or a related technical or business field with a GPA of 3.5 or above. 
  • A strong blend of business and technical acumen, with the ability to engage meaningfully and add value in discussions encompassing both technology and business strategy.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies: A keen interest in staying abreast of cutting-edge technologies, particularly within the AI and real-time data space, and identifying how they can create new value for users.
  • A passion for entrepreneurship with the ability to thrive and react proactively to changing business needs within a dynamic, high-growth startup environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across teams and with customers.
