MBA Fundamental L/S Equities Internship – Global Healthcare – Non-therapeutics

Marshall Wace Founded in 1997, Marshall Wace is a leading global alternatives investment manager with around $70bn in assets under management and over 700 employees working across London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, and Abu Dhabi. Operating as a single team across the globe, we are dedicated to creating long-term relationships with our clients built on trust and integrity. We define our culture as one of continuous innovation and a quest for improvement. We instinctively strive to do things differently, with fresh thinking that enables us to create proprietary value and maximize the benefits to our clients.

We manage quantitative, systematic, and fundamental strategies, specializing predominantly in long/short equity. Our strategies are implemented globally, leveraging proprietary systems and processes. Technology and data have been at the core of our business for more than two decades. In 2002, we launched MW TOPS, the world’s first ‘Alpha Capture’ application. Today, we continue to foster an environment focused on innovation and the pursuit of excellence.

MBA Internship Program

Marshall Wace’s fundamental strategies are designed to capture stock-based idiosyncratic alpha and are concentrated in specific regions and sectors. Each fundamental strategy team is managed by a Portfolio Manager and supported by a number of Analysts with distinct areas of expertise. We seek to achieve exceptional returns at all stages of the investment process through creative idea generation, rigorous due diligence, company meetings, detailed financial modeling, disciplined portfolio construction, and efficient trading and implementation.

This internship is designed for MBA students who are looking to apply their academic and professional experience to public markets investing. During the program, interns will gain exposure to the full investment process—idea generation, research, valuation, portfolio construction, and risk management—while working closely with experienced investment professionals.

  • Contribute to differentiated, bottoms-up financial analysis of companies, business models, industry dynamics, and broader sector trends
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Analysts to refine investment ideas and assist in portfolio construction and risk assessment
