Xcimer Energy is seeking a Summer 2026 Intern in Computational and Software Engineering. Xcimer Energy leverages inertial fusion energy research with a mission to deploy fusion power plants to meet global decarbonization goals as fast as possible. As a summer intern, you will be integral to developing the computational tools and software systems needed for the world's first commercial fusion energy power plant. Responsibilities include developing simulation software for fusion physics, building data analysis tools for experimental campaigns, contributing to control systems software, and supporting computational modeling efforts across the engineering team. Xcimer is backed by leading climate-tech investors and brings together a team of accomplished physicists, engineers, and software developers from premier research institutions and technology companies. Required qualifications: pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computational Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field; strong programming skills in Python, C++, or Julia; interest in clean energy and fusion technology.
