Software Engineering Internship - NYC

Two Sigma's summer internship program lasts 10 weeks and takes place at Two Sigma's Soho-based New York City office. Software Engineering interns are empowered to apply cutting-edge frameworks, domain-specific languages, powerful academic concepts, data demystification strategies, cloud computing technologies, and more to contribute to Two Sigma's powerful platform. Engineering areas include building the underlying infrastructure that virtually every other engineering team at Two Sigma uses, such as distributed storage and public and private cloud environments; ensuring the reliability of mission-critical products and systems vital to Two Sigma, such as the main trading system; building low-latency, high-performance infrastructure for executing trades; building infrastructure to ingest data from 10,000+ sources daily; and partnering with corporate teams to develop productivity tools. Interns are paired with a mentor from day one, with workshops on technical skills, public speaking, and writing. Compensation is approximately $95/hour. Requires coursework towards a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in a technical or quantitative field and experience with Java, C, C++, Python, Ruby, Perl, or other JVM-targeting languages.
