USPTO Intern Program - Student Trainee (Pathways)

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is hiring Student Trainees through the federal Pathways Internship Program for paid internships in support of USPTO's mission to grant patents and register trademarks. Student trainees may be assigned to administrative, technical, IT, business, or program-support roles depending on field of study, working alongside USPTO professionals on projects related to intellectual property policy, patent examination support, data analysis, communications, or operations. Eligibility requires current enrollment at least half-time in an accredited high school, undergraduate, graduate, or qualifying career/technical program. Position is a federal Excepted Service appointment under the Pathways Program; successful interns may be eligible for noncompetitive conversion to permanent civil service positions. Located primarily in Alexandria, VA, with telework options available. U.S. citizenship required.
