Data Science Intern - Freight Pricing, Summer 2026

Loadsmart is hiring a Data Science Intern for Summer 2026 to join our Pricing and Marketplace team. You will build and evaluate machine learning models that quote truckload spot rates in real time, balancing win probability against margin, capacity, and carrier preferences. Projects may include improving our lane-level demand forecasts, developing carrier-matching recommender systems, or productionizing features in our Python/Spark feature store. You will work closely with senior data scientists, ML engineers, and pricing strategists, and present model improvements to leadership. Qualifications: pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or related field graduating Dec 2026 through Dec 2027; strong Python (pandas, scikit-learn) and SQL; experience with gradient boosting, time-series forecasting, or causal inference. Background in transportation, pricing, or marketplaces is a plus.
