Security Research Intern - Summer 2026

Join Okta's Security Research team as a Summer 2026 intern contributing to threat detection, identity attack research, and defensive engineering. You will investigate token theft, session hijacking, and MFA bypass techniques; build detections that run across billions of authentication events per day; and help author research that is published to the security community. Responsibilities include analyzing adversary tradecraft, prototyping new detections in our SIEM pipeline, collaborating with the Okta Threat Intelligence team, and reporting findings to Okta's security leadership. Qualifications: pursuing a BS/MS in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related discipline; strong understanding of identity protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM); familiarity with Python, SQL, and log analysis tooling (Splunk, Elastic, BigQuery); prior CTF, bug bounty, or security research experience strongly preferred.
