Summer 2026 Cybersecurity Intern

FirstEnergy's Information Security team is hiring a Summer 2026 Cybersecurity Intern in Akron, OH. The intern will support the Security Operations Center with threat hunting, SIEM alert triage (Splunk), NERC CIP compliance documentation, and vulnerability scanning of OT/ICS environments. Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Systems with coursework in networking and at least one scripting language. Security+ or other industry certifications are a plus. Due to critical infrastructure access, candidates must be US citizens or permanent residents. The 12-week program is paid with a potential return offer.
