Software Engineering Intern - Summer 2026

NXP Semiconductors, the Dutch-headquartered leader in automotive and IoT microcontroller platforms, is hiring a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 in Austin, Texas. You will join the R&D team developing firmware and software IP used in the design of advanced microcontrollers and microprocessors, contributing to device drivers, bootloaders, and reference applications. You will write production-grade C/C++ code, validate firmware on hardware prototypes, and support customer demos. Qualifications: pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering; proficiency in C/C++; experience with embedded systems, RTOS, or ARM Cortex architectures is a plus. Paid 10-12 week internship with average hourly compensation near $42/hour. NXP sponsors H-1B for qualifying new-grad engineers.
