X-energy Summer 2026 Reactor Engineering Intern

X-energy, developer of the Xe-100 high-temperature gas-cooled pebble bed reactor, is hiring Reactor Engineering Interns for Summer 2026 at its Rockville, MD headquarters. Interns support core analysis, TRISO fuel performance modeling, or safety analysis activities for X-energy's commercial SMR product and DOE ARDP demonstration project. Candidates must be pursuing a Master's or PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics with coursework in reactor physics, thermal hydraulics, or computational methods. 12-week paid program.
