AI Fellow (Summer 2026)

Axios is hiring an AI Fellow for Summer 2026 based in the Washington, DC Metro Area. The AI Fellow will work directly with Axios co-founders and senior leaders to accelerate how AI is embedded across the organization, combining research, prototyping, experimentation, and strategic advisory work. Responsibilities include researching and evaluating emerging AI products and models; prototyping AI tools for Axios' newsrooms, product, and business teams; drafting internal guidance on responsible AI use in journalism; and advising executives on AI strategy. Qualifications include current enrollment in a graduate program (MBA, MS, or PhD) or recent graduate; strong written and verbal communication skills; hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and at least one programming language (Python preferred); interest in news, media, and product; and demonstrated self-direction on complex projects. This is a paid fellowship.
