CNN Newsgathering and Political Internships: DC - Summer 2026

CNN is hiring Newsgathering and Political Interns for Summer 2026 in Washington, DC. Interns will work alongside the CNN Washington bureau teams covering politics, Congress, the White House, the Supreme Court, and national security. Responsibilities include assisting reporters and producers with research and story development, monitoring press briefings and congressional hearings, drafting background memos, transcribing interviews, and supporting studio and field production. Qualifications include current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in journalism, political science, communications, or related field; strong writing and research skills; familiarity with news production; and a passion for political journalism. This is a paid full-time 10-week summer internship onsite in Washington, DC.
