Software Engineering Intern 2026

IBM is hiring Software Engineering Interns for 2026 in its Electronic Design Automation (EDA) organization, where teams develop tools for hardware and semiconductor development, pioneering innovations for microprocessors and hardware used in IBM zSystems, IBM Power Systems, IBM Storage, and IBM Quantum Systems. As an intern you will work on production EDA tooling, physical design automation, and verification infrastructure. Responsibilities: write production C++ and Python code; develop algorithms for hardware design automation; collaborate with experienced engineers through code reviews and pair programming. Requirements: pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering; expected graduation December 2026 or 2027; strong algorithmic programming; excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; collaborative skills and ability to work in fast-paced agile environments. Paid 10-12 week internship.
