Student Training in Engineering Program (STEP) Intern, 2026

The Student Training in Engineering Program (STEP) Intern, 2026 is a developmental internship at Google for first- and second-year undergraduate students with a passion for computer science. The STEP internship is designed for students from historically underrepresented groups in technology. Projects are determined based on student experience, skills, and interests, with internship duration of 8-17 weeks. Interns work with a dedicated host and technical mentor on meaningful software engineering projects. Minimum qualifications include current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science or related technical field, returning to the program after the internship, and programming experience in Python, C, C++, or Java.
