Kirkland & Ellis's 2026 Summer Associate Program immerses law students in Kirkland's culture, exposing them to practice areas and firm operations while contributing to real deals and cases for high-profile clients. Kirkland's distinctive open assignment system enables summer associates to have agency over the types of matters they work on. The program includes training, mentorship and development, and networking and social opportunities. In 2025, Kirkland welcomed 781 total summer associates (457 2Ls and 324 1Ls).
