The Department of Justice's Summer Law Intern Program (SLIP) is the DOJ's competitive 10-week paid internship for law students. Summer 2026 interns start May 18, 2026, and are placed across DOJ components including the Civil Division, Criminal Division, Antitrust, Environment and Natural Resources, Tax, Office of Legal Counsel, U.S. Attorneys' Offices, and FBI/DEA offices of General Counsel. Interns draft legal memoranda, conduct research, observe court proceedings, and may assist with case investigations. Applicants must be law students who have completed at least one full semester and be U.S. citizens.
