Department of State Pathways Internship Program

The U.S. Department of State's Pathways Internship Program places paid interns in bureaus across Washington, DC and at Department offices nationwide, supporting diplomats and civil servants on foreign policy, consular affairs, economic affairs, and management. Vacancy announcements are posted year-round on USAJOBS on an as-needed basis. Interns must be U.S. citizens at least 16 years old with a 2.0+ GPA, subject to drug testing and eligible for a Secret or Top Secret clearance. Responsibilities include policy research, cable drafting support, briefing material preparation, and administrative coordination.
