The Heritage Foundation's Young Leaders Program is a paid full-time 12-week internship running May 11 to August 7, 2026, at Heritage's Washington, DC headquarters. Fifty-plus interns are placed across policy departments (Economic Policy Studies, Domestic Policy Studies, Foreign Policy, Government Relations, Communications) and Heritage Action. Interns attend weekly policy briefings with Heritage scholars, skills workshops on writing op-eds and professional development, and evening lectures. Applicants need at least 60 college credits, an Associate's degree, or to be a current graduate or law student, and must be committed to Heritage's principles of free enterprise, limited government, and a strong national defense.
