Summer 2026, American Congress & Government Internship, Governance Studies

Brookings seeks a Summer 2026 intern for the American Congress & Government initiative in Governance Studies. The intern will assist scholars studying Congress, executive-legislative relations, and institutional reform. Tasks include compiling congressional data, tracking legislation, synthesizing research findings, and drafting sections of briefs and op-eds. Paid hybrid role in Washington, DC, 12 weeks, approximately 35-40 hours per week. Applicants should have strong writing skills, familiarity with the U.S. policymaking process, and data analysis experience (Excel, R, or Python preferred).
